When good robots go bad

Remember the news about the new sex robot? I initially just shrugged this off as another News of the Weird item, but John Stossel apparently seized on this line of the article.

Initially, he set out to create a health aide for the elderly, but all the red tape pushed him into the red light district.

Then followed up with the inventor himself. This is now my newest favorite example of human nature and government red tape. The guy wanted to build a robot that would help his elderly father when they were not together. but he found that as a “medical device” it would require extensive red tape as well as open him up to liability suits. Rather than go through that hassle, its now an “entertainment device”

He should ship it with a naughty nurse costume just for the irony.

Cool post as for me. It would be great to read a bit more about that matter. Thanx for giving that material.
